Making homemade bread is one of my favorite hobbies.

To me, nothing says “home” quite like the smell of bread that’s right out of the oven.

I love making sourdough, sandwich loaves, dinner rolls, bagels, focaccia, banana bread, and so much more.

Although my family gobbles up my bread in a hurry, sometimes I get in the zone and make just a tad too much.

Whenever I had leftovers, I would store them at room temperature in an airtight plastic bag.

I began to notice that many of the loaves were going stale in 2-3 days when I stored them like this.

Plus, storing them in a plastic bag on my countertop wasn’t exactly aesthetically pleasing.

A friend of mine mentioned how she stores her bread in a bread box, and it worked great for her.

I started to do some research on bread boxes, and they seemed right up my alley.

But, I wasn’t thrilled with the size and designs of the ones I came across.

I love a good challenge, so I decided to create one.

This stylish, modern bread bin took me a few months to “cook up,” but I’m so happy with the result.

My homemade bread is staying fresh much longer now!
